From the Seneschal:
Holly and Ivy [2003] was an enjoyable event. 60 people attended. The classes were varied. I took part in the Target Archery Marshalling class, the Celtic Knot Work Class, and the Story Telling Class. I hope all who attended these and the other classes had as good and informative time as I did.
The classes included Target Archery Marshalling, Flemish Bowstring Making, Basics of Heavy Fighting, Drawing Celtic Knotwork, Bookmaking, Basics of Falconry, Persona Development, Story Telling, Chain Stitch Embroidery, Singing, and Pied Piper.
Baron Hroulg of Dragon's Laire held court following the classes. During Court our Bard Jessadriel and Master James the Obscure received scrolls of appreciation from the Shire. Lady Mary of Druim Doineann received a Goutte de Sang.
Then we held our potluck feast. I want to congratulate Colin Richards on the fine job he did on cooking our beast. The feast had plenty of meat and many and varied side dishes.
Following the feast Jessadriel and the Bardic Alliance entertained the populace with singing, dancing, violin, harp, and guitar. It was enjoyed by all.
If you missed Holly and Ivy this year you missed a very enjoyable time. A special "thank you" to all who attended - you made it a great event!!
Please mark your next year's calendar for the 3rd weekend in January.
Yis,
HL Mary of Druim Doineann
