Photos from the Feast or Famine War between the Shire of Druim Doineann and the Barony of Seagirt. In AS XXXIX (2004), the War was hosted by Seagirt in Sooke, BC, Canada (at Camp "Barnyard"). And it rained... and rained...

The brave fighters of Druim Doineann!!

The strange effect Bob the Sheep had on the Baron of Seagirt: Master James Llewellyn ap Gruffydd.

Trebuchet baseball??

Very exciting that Palladius, Dana, Loric, and Caroline were able to be there!

and Palladius is victorious!!

We'll miss Sir Liam, but wish him well on his travels.

We may have lost the war, and we got soaked... but it was fun!!
Thank you so much for the hospitality of the Barony of Seagirt!

A Word from the Druim Doineann Champion, Lord Palladius -- 24 Aug 2004

Greetings Faire Shirelings!

I am proud to have had the opportunity to make the trek north to the Barony of Seagirt to fight for the honor of the Shire at Feast or Famine War; and although fish will not be on the menu for some time, I am certain that supplementary fare will suffice and help strengthen the fighting forces of Druim Doineann. I was quite surprised to see the Champion of Seagirt fighting with the sword/axe style that I prefer, but his skills availed him not in the Champion's Battle.

Thank you Karyn and Angus for the food you prepared. We constantly fail 'food' at events, and not having to worry about it was worth the expense. The weather did not seem to slow anyone down, on or off the field. Hopefully the weather this week will be kind enough to me so that my gear dries out before I head to the Shire of Shittemwoode for Warren War this next weekend.

We will be at September Crown as well as Hot Summer Lights. I will NOT be fighting in the Crown Lists this time, nor in the Squire's Tournament; but I WILL be vying for the honor of Kingdom Protector (one-on-one combat archery) and in the Arcuarius Tournament if it occurs.

The trip home was interesting. Left the site at 1230pm. Tried to make it in time for the Coho. Would have been 8th on 'standby' for the 730pm sailing. Abandoned that, and made our way north to the Anacortes ferry. Discovered we were 4 hours too early and the facilities there were locked up tight. Continued north to the Swartz Bay/Tsawwassen ferry to discover a massive line extending down the highway. Decided to get dinner in Sydney before attempting the Anacortes ferry again. Sailed at 600pm, arrived in Anacortes at 900pm. Making our way south on I-5, the lids to the rubbermaid bins on the roof rack came off, taking most of the straps and bungee cords with them. So, here I am basically playing FROGGER in the dark on I-5 looking for the lids. Got everything secured again, and made it home to Everett at 1130pm. Hours upon hours of boredom, with minutes of adrenaline rush tossed in to liven things up a bit. What a trip ;)

See you all very soon!

Lord Palladius &
HL Dana Chathair Saibhin
